Year In Review | 2014 (...with Pictures!!)

I have to say I am quite happy that 2014 is over. I think the biggest thing my family and I went through was a loss of our beloved Max. He was such a good dog and we miss him so much. I've gone through a lot in my young adult life. I have stories that would absolutely shock you, so I am grateful to be able to say that other than Max's death, this year has been pretty subdued. However, personally I went through a lot in 2014 and it was a year for change. I do not deal with change very well. Anywho-I'm happy to leave that all behind and focus on a brighter new year.

As far as change goes, I've done A LOT of travelling this year. I HATE travelling with a passion. I'm totally fine travelling when I'm doing it with family, but I've had to do a lot of business trips this year. I get very nervous travelling to new places (even the same places) and doing presentations, it's just not my thing and I get very uneasy. I get very stressed out traveling and memorizing speeches. It's been quite a challenge for me to adjust to it. I pretty much travel once a quarter and a few extra times throughout the year for other meetings. This is just for work! It all works out because I do like my job, but I am just not a fan of travelling.

The next big change was in February. Jeff and I moved into our first home! It was magical and wonderful and a terrific first home. I am 99% sure we are the only house in the neighborhood without kids too. It was tough adjusting to a new home, responsibilities and neighborhood.

Another big change, was we adopted TWO puppies this year! I was shocked when I was able to convince Jeff into one, but it was a surprise to me how easy it was to convince him to get two brothers!

We adopted our puppies through Rescue Rovers and a lady in Jeff's parents neighborhood was fostering this litter trying to get them adopted.

When we first went to see them, Hammond was sick and had to be hand fed. Luckily the foster mom taking care of them did a GREAT job and he is perfectly healthy, happy, and quite the HAM!

Then on April 9th, Jeff, my mom and I all went to good see Alfie and Hammond before they were old enough to adopt. We went and played and had a great time getting to know our little guys.

Pictured Below:

RIGHT: Baby Alfie (less than 8 weeks old--I love how Jeff is wearing the band bracelet the kids of the family fostering Aflie and Hammond made him!)

This same day after we went to visit the pups, I decided that since we were close to our newly opened Dunkin' Donuts, it would be a good time to get some. So we made our way over and picked some out. On our way back home, we got rear-ended pretty badly and ended up going to the ER to get checked out. Jeff ended up with a minor concussion and whip lash and I had a sprained shoulder and whip lash! Ouch! I've personally dealt with pain in the neck from this accident most of this year..UGH!

Also in April, I started my blog! I can't believe I worked up the courage to do this. Not too far after that I started my YouTube channel! This has been SCARY, but so fun at the same time. I am so grateful for all of you who have supported me this year and I look forward to another great year next year! Here is my first-ever YouTube video...forgive the quality as it was my first one. Hopefully I've gotten better!

The last day of April, we got to bring our boys home. Our families were just as in love with them as we were! They love going to my mom's house to play because she has a big fenced-in yard so they can run and play to their hearts content!

In May, Jeff took me to Vegas to see my all-time favorite band--Backstreet Boys! It was the best concert ever and they are still awesome! (Oh yeah, I broke my wrist a few weeks before the trip too!)

Summer was really fun, we kept pretty busy! One memorable activity was camping with my best friend Amy and her husband Rob. Amy was pregnant during our camping trip and they brought their two pups with us. It was seriously so much fun!

Also, the boys discovered how much they loved water, and mud. My sis-in-law, Tearie, gave us a little kiddie pool for the boys. Every time we fill it with water the boys jump in and dig and splash around. One day I came outside where Jeff was working on our sprinklers and saw this:

Yup, they were covered in mud and completely happy!

As always, we enjoy going to Draper Days for the 24th of July. Around this time, my mom's yorkie, Max, passed away. This was quite a huge shock to me. The poor thing had diabetes and was going blind. My mom paid for eye surgery so he could see again, thankfully it worked and gave him the best life possible to the end. I'll miss this little guy. He meant everything to us! Here is an old pic of Max with my Dad. At least they are together again...I miss them both so much!!!!

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. We dressed up for work and had a fun party. Jeff was Arrow and I was a black cat. We didn't have as many trick-or-treaters as we thought we would have, so we had tons of left over candy!

In November, my best friend Amy has her baby, JJ. He is so freaking adorable!!!

Christmas 2014: Yup, the boys had their own presents and stockings. They were SO good all year, Santa Paws spoiled them rotten!

It has been a wild and crazy year for us this year. I am excited to see what 2015 has in store for us and our little family. Again, thank you all so much for your love, support and comments. This community is truly the best and I'm grateful everyday to be a part of it.

I hope 2015 brings you and your family much joy and happiness and I hope we all take advantage and live every day to the fullest!

Goodbye 2014...Hellooooo 2015!
