Eyeko FAT Eye Stick

It has been requested that I share my thoughts on this Eyeko FAT Eye Stick I got in my November #Birchbox.
*This request came from one of my favorite bloggers, Shireen Platt from Reflection of Sanity (awesome blog, go check it out!).*

In complete honesty, I wasn't madly in love with this product, but there were some highlights to be noted.

You can see, this is a very lovely looking eye shadow stick, I really loved the color I received. It was a silvery-bronze (that was the best way I could describe it!). I also was very happy with the size and was super excited to try this product!

Below is a swatch I did. On the left, I went on lightly and on the right, I applied it a little heavier. The great thing is these are buildable! So you can do a quick, easy swipe of color across your lids or you can build it up and smoke it out!

If you are interested to see what it looks like on, I was wearing it while filming my latest YouTube video below.

My overall opinion on this product, was it looked more exciting than it actually was. Perhaps it was just the one that I received, but it seemed quite hard to use. I was expecting it to be creamy and just glide on, but it took some work. It was a little hard too-almost dried out. It took some work to apply it.

The lid did not even snap or twist on, it falls right off. This is not good especially if I wanted to throw this is in my handbag to use on a whim while I'm out and about. I can just see it now...my lovely purse or makeup bag covered in shimmery eyeshadow marks...no thanks!

On the positive side, I did think it lasted longer than I had expected and I liked that it came in a crayon form. Most of the cream eyeshadows I use are the Paint Pots by MAC where I usually use my finger to apply. So I did like the fact that my fingers stayed clean during application.

Overall, I am not that thrilled with this product. I think if the packaging was improved, I bet the quality would have been better. The way it came to me, I only thought it was okay. I would not spend the $15 it retails for through Birchbox's website.

Can't love them all I guess! But I'm here to provide my honest opinions about the products I try.

If you've tried it and had a better experience, please share in the comments. Who knows, maybe I was just unlucky in the one that came to me. I really love the idea of eyeshadow sticks/crayons. If you have any other brands I should check out, be sure to let me know! :)

  1. I love the idea of the crayons but I've found they only work with dark colours.

  3. Eeekkkk! Thank you so much for this review, Melissy! I was honestly waiting for this review from you. What a bloody disappointment, I was under the impression that it would have been a stellar product because it's from Eyeko. Again thank you, will be skipping this. :-/
