A Day in the Life: Christmas

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas this year, I know I did. I will admit, it was a little hard for me since I'm such a kid at heart and very stuck on traditions. It was hard because this is my 7th year without my dad and he always did everything he could to make sure Christmas was so magical. I miss him so much, but I'm so grateful for all the time I had with him and I'm happy we can carry on the traditions he helped start.

This year was also full of change and Jeff and I are in our first house, celebrating our first Christmas by ourselves (other than the first year we were married). It was fun and perfect of course, but change is always different. Jeff made it so special for me and we had our puppies too, so it was better than I could have asked for!

A random beauty side note: I got my brows and upper lip waxed on Tuesday and broke out! Just in time for Christmas-yay! I used my favorite Orgins Super Spot Remover and they cleared up just in time!! Whew! Just had to mention that there.

I really wanted to get pics of the pups by our tree, so here are a few that we got on Christmas Eve, before Santa Paws came! (These were taken on my iPhone, so please forgive the quality...)

(Above: Alfie is super chill!)

(Above: Hammond is CLEARLY excited for Santa Paws to come!)

Christmas morning was my favorite part! Jeff did way too much for me, much more than I deserve. But the one thing that stands out above all the rest were a few framed photos he had made of the pups. He got a picture of them together and framed it with their paw prints inked around the edges. It was amazing! Then he did a bigger version with individual pictures as well as a picture with them together and their paw prints around that too! It was beyond thoughtful and precious. It was so amazing it made me cry! He is also just too cute!! He heard me going on and on about Alex and Ani charmed bracelets with paw prints and how I couldn't decide if I would want silver or gold. So he got me both and wrapped them from Alfie and was so sweet! Can you tell we just love our puppies!!

The rest of Christmas consisted of heading over to my Mom's house where we did presents and breakfast with her, my brother and his wife. Then we went to Jeff's sister's house and hung out with his family most of the afternoon. We also got to Face Time Jeff's siblings that live in NC, so that was awesome to see/talk to them. Then we went back to my Mom's to have game night. We got my brother Cards Against Humanity (ages 17+ for a reason!). It was downright hilarious playing with my mom. It's not a game you would normally even play with your family, let alone your mother, but she was an awesome sport and even won! Haha, lots of AWESOME memories came from this night! :)

We trekked back home in the snow after game night and crashed! One of the funniest things that happened on Christmas was Alfie and Hammond got to see snow for the first time! We are so glad they like snow and are not afraid to get their paws wet. When we came over to my mom's house, we let them run in her backyard and they went NUTS. Chasing each other full speed and sliding down her hills. They loved hiding behind her trees and scaring each other. They were learning how to control themselves in the slippery yard. They loved it so much we couldn't keep them inside! They wanted to be out the whole day playing. It was hysterical watching them!

Then today (day after Christmas), we spent the whole day lounging and doing nothing. That's just the best and exactly what I needed. We played with the boys and all of our new gifts. I decided to take some pictures of some of the beauty related items I got for Christmas so I can prepare for future blog posts and I as I was doing this, I snapped a few pictures of the boys that just melted my heart!

Then we decided to go on a date night and had dinner and went to a movie. Jeff knows how much I love the original movie Annie, he took me to see the new one. Have you seen it? If so, what did you think??

It's been a wonderful week and I'm so glad we are heading into the weekend and not the beginning of a work week! I've loved every minute spent with Jeff, the boys and our families. We are so grateful for all that we have and to have our family so close. The time we spend with each other is precious and I just love keeping traditions and starting new ones!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas as well, and for those of you who may not celebrate Christmas, I hope you had a wonderful week filled with great people and memories as well!

I'd love to know what some of your favorite Christmas/Family traditions are, so please share in the comments! :)
