Calgon Bath Pearls

A few weeks ago, I attended my best friends baby shower hosted by her family. This was a couple's shower, so it made it even more fun to have spouses there. We played lots of really fun games and the winners got to choose a prize from their prize table.

Jeff won (quite a few games!) the game where you guess how big around the mom-to-be is by cutting the string to be the closest to her actual size. He was by far the closest (almost exact!) and won! He immediately went to the table and grabbed something he thought I would enjoy (I know, a keeper right!!). He picked me a bath item as he knows I LOVE taking baths.

He picked me up these Calgon Bath Pearls, so I thought I would share with you my thoughts on them as there are actually fairly inexpensive (yay!).

Calgon Ageless Bath Renewing Bath Pearls-$4.99+

As you probably know by now, if you watch my YouTube videos or follow this blog, I LOVE LUSH!! Lush has so many awesome bath time products with great ingredients and they don't test on animals! As much as I love Lush, sometimes it can be quite pricey. And, there are times when I run out of a great bath product and need to get something quickly, so it can be nice to grab something while grocery shopping.

As I got these a prize, I decided I would hold off on my next Lush trip and try these bath pearls for a while as a nice alternative, and if I were to fall in love, then that would save me a bundle!

Here is what the description says from the Calgon website:
"A breakthrough in the bath tub. See radiant, younger-looking skin after just one bath. Our exclusive Vita-Pearl™ technology with Pearl Powder, Vitamin E and Collagen provides luminosity and moisture to the skin. Dullness is immediately brightened for a younger, fresher-looking you."

So here are my thoughts:

I think that description claims to do a lot of things, and I can't say that it did it for me based on that description. I did not notice "radiant, youger-looking skin after just one bath." However, it did make my skin feel very soft and quite moisturized.

I poured about a handful under running water at first. Then decided I would probably like more, so I poured a second handful. The pearls dissolved very quickly, which I did like. It made for a nice relaxing bath and my skin did feel great when I got out of the tub! Plus, I felt pretty relaxed. :)

I used to use Calgon a lot as a child. I don't think they make it anymore and I can't remember exactly what it was, but my mom used to buy me a blue box from Calgon and you would pour this "blue powder" into the running water. It always helped me to relax after a long day at school and sports practices. I truly am a Calgon fan.

I thought these pearls were very girly and pretty and felt it did moisturize my skin. This product is probably not as good as the "blue powder" I remember from my childhood, but it is still pretty great. And if you are on a budget, I would recommend trying something from the Calgon range as it is very soothing and moisturizing These pearls just added a different feel to the bath time experience and it was pretty cute. I would say this is probably my favorite grocery store and non-bubble bath product.

What is your favorite grocery store bath product?

    1. I'm sure you can purchase them online if you can't find them in stores, but I thought it was a nice product. I do like anything by Calgon, they are a great company. I've used their products forever :)
