My Top 3 Blushes

This post was not intended to feature all MAC products, but I like what I like and I wanted to share.

If you happen to know me or have read my previous blog posts, you may have noticed that when it comes to makeup and beauty products, I definitely lean towards the more natural side.

My mom always said that the trick to wearing makeup is to make it look like you're not wearing any. I didn't understand that so much as an adolescent, but as an adult...I couldn't agree more. However, with that said, this is just my style, my taste and what works well for me.

So sticking with the natural look, I wanted to share with you my favorite blushes of all time. These all happen to be from MAC, but they are truly my faves!

Left to Right::
Tenderling (sheertone blush)
Dollymix (sheertone shimmer blush)
Warm Soul (mineralize blush)

Tenderling is a really soft brownish-beige color and this was my go to for a really long time. It goes on so naturally and it was perfect for my style. It blends nicely and it gives me the perfect amount of color. This is great in the fall and winter and has really been a staple in my every day makeup routine.

Then I discovered Dollymix when being really brave and going for a bright color. However, I think that these blushes are build-able, so I go very light at first and add more if I think it need it. Dollymix gives that perfect pinky-glow to your face without making you look like you just came in from the freezing cold. It's such a pretty, natural looking blush. This has been my spring go to product for sure!

Now that we are moving in to summer I thought I'd give this Warm Soul blush a try. I was at the MAC store in Vegas and the makeup artist that put all the products on me used this and I thought it pulled the whole look together. I had a very natural glow to my skin that was seriously beautiful and not at all over done. Again, this product build-able, so I can layer and layer until I have the right amount that works for me and my personal style. I couldn't find this color on MAC's website, so I am not sure if it is discontinued or maybe a brand new product. I'm not sure, but if you love it like I do, check  your local stores or try another website.

These have been my favorite go to blushes for the last few months, some are new finds and some are my original faves.

Blush Application Tip: (Note: I am obviously not a makeup artist by any means, but I use the techniques that work for me, and I think you should do what works for you.)
I found this tip to be very helpful when I first learned it. When you apply blush...SMILE!!! You are able to find the apples of your cheeks and that is wear you wan to apply the product.

How I Do It: I personally like to swirl or even tap my blush brush into the blush and tap off the excess product. Then, SMILE and  apply in a circular motion on the apples of my cheeks. From there, I like to work it up to my temples and blend, blend, blend!

I hope you found this post to be helpful. I truly enjoy the products I have mentioned and would recommend them to all my friends!

What are you favorite blushes? Any favorite brands I need to check out? Let me know your thoughts!
